I Remember

Cross posted over here, which was reblogged from here.

2010 Resolutions

I didn’t do terribly bad with 2009′s resolutions. I gained weight. I stopped taking photos every day around February. I never released any new music or DJ mixes. I still have some credit card debt… On the other hand, I was more in touch with family, I’ve cut back on lecturing, I’ve given more to charity, read more and theoretically learned to spin fire (I have practice poi and don’t clobber myself too much so the next step is actual fire)

Here’s a much shorter list for this year:

  • Lose weight. 50 lbs would be good. 75 is a nice stretch goal.
  • Spin fire.
  • More music.
  • More reading.
  • More charity.
  • More family.
  • More pictures.
  • Less debt.

Random Bits

Tomato plants are deadly killers. Said the researchers, “We may be surrounded by many more murderous plants than we think.” Maybe Christopher Walken is on to something.

Today, Alexander Ovechkin comes off his two-game suspension for checking another player in a National Hockey League game

In two days, President Barack Obama will accept the Nobel Peace Prize. Last week he announced plans to send 30,000 more US troops into Afghanistan

The count is up to seven mistresses now. I don’t even know how Tiger has had time to play golf.

They know we can see them, right?

Just last week The Daily Show caught Hannity running video from the 9/12 “teabagger” rally and claiming it was from Michele Bachmann’s much less attended “housecall” rally against the House healthcare bill. Media Matters reported that this was just the “tip of the iceberg” and gave previous examples.

Now they are at it again, running old McCain/Palin campaign footage and claiming it is from the “huge crowds” Palin is drawing on her book tour.

They know we can see them, right?

Weekend Update

I’m finally moved! Cleaned out the last of my stuff and swept and mopped the floors at the old place on Friday night. Now I have the equally tedious task of unpacking and placing things where they belong. Maybe sometime before the end of the month I’ll be done…

The Washington Capitals put a hurtin’ on the Maple Leafs on Saturday night, at least through two periods before letting off the gas for the third and letting the Leafs back in the game. Much red was rocked. You could tell that the fans had missed regular season hockey, and the opposition could feel it too.

You felt like you were in a piranha fish tank.

~ Ron Wilson, Current Toronto Maple Leafs and former Washington Capitals Head Coach, on Saturday night’s Home Opener.

I think the Caps may actually have a team this year. They’ve gotten stronger in some places they needed to, but still a little weak in some places most of us have thought they were weak in for some time now. Hopefully the good pace continues.

Now back to slaving away for the man.
