Here’s an ad that was posted on the Wall Street Journal today, before McCain un-suspended his campaign he never really suspended and announced that he would participate in the debate he had decided not to participate in because he had to run back to DC to save the negotiations for the bailout deal that he likely only complicated.

Can we all just go ahead and admit this was just more political grandstanding by Mr. Country First?

OK, I’m just saying, what’s wrong with preparing an ad like this in advance? I’m sure Obama has one too. McCain’s probably got triggered too soon, and was probably an error on behalf of the banner ad agency. Just saying.
“Actually, most of WebProNews’s inquiries into how this occurred were not answered, but WSJ.com vice president of advertising, Joseph Gallagher, said “this was purely human error,” as opposed to an automated contextual advertising one. “It was obviously supposed to launch in the pm,” he said, “and it was mistakenly launched in the am.”
Gallagher said the mistake was caught “immediately” and was taken down.
Ashley Huston, a spokesperson for Dow Jones, the Journal’s parent company recently purchased by News Corporation, chalked up the premature running of the ad to a clerical error. “The advertising was removed as soon as discovered, and we regret our mistake,” she said.”

I don’t see how that disproves his being presumptuous. He had an ad saying he won a debate he has been saying he wasn’t going to take part in, scheduled to run this evening regardless. Would have been even funnier had it run when scheduled after he didn’t participate.
I’m just saying, Obama probably also has a similar ad already prepared. Just like on election night, you prepare your acceptance speech before you win.
