How are these tactics even constitutional? How is it that a candidate for a position as important as the President of the United States of America has to fight the media instead of having real discussions about real things.
They are basically inaugurating any winner of any poll, anywhere. Then they are proven wrong and simply switch gears to jump behind the next frontrunner. They are jumping on every little itsy bitsy soundbyte and blurb of everyone but the candidates with real ideas and plans, who want to discuss policy instead of feel good and rhetoric. They are excluding legitimate candidates from the public forum.
Yes, Kucinich is polling low. No, he hasn’t been able to raise funds at the levels of the other candidates… And it is a snowball effect. Every time Kucinich is excluded, it decreases his viability exponentially. We have seen that all it takes is the tiniest soundbyte to swing a poll, primary or caucus a few points and the mainstream media is inexplicably terrified of someone throwing a monkey wrench in their forgone conclusions.
So I ask: Why bother? Why participate in the media circus that equates to a weekly political superbowl? How has something as essential to the way this country is supposed to work, at its basic level been taken over by advertising money and windbag pundits?
The real winners here are the networks that are making a mint on advertising money, and destroying our democracy in the process.
