Saudi arms sale may spark Bush-Congress battle
I seriously feel like I’m taking crazy pills. Fifteen of the nineteen attackers in the largest catalyst for this Administration’s “Global War on Terror” platform hailed from Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has been accused of funding terrorist activity, supports fundamental Islamic groups that grow and train these sorts of people, and is probably our BIGGEST concern on this issue… And we’re selling them weapons.
Meanwhile, we continue to fight a completely unnecessary and illegal war to their north, in a country that had nothing at all to do with anything before we went in and made it another breeding ground for terrorists and gave our enemies more reason to hate us. And to make it worst, our image is further tarnished and we’ve lost good allies in the process.
I guess the truth of it is though, if we’re going to sell these weapons to Israel, it’s only fair that we arm everyone else in the region, too, right? I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
*facepalm*
