In case any of you were wondering, “Hey, I wonder what my good buddy and compatriot, Ernie would like for Christmahannukwanzakah?” Your answer is here.
For further details as to why this would make such an excellent gift, see my Unified Theory of Bacon.
What weekend? I worked on Saturday at the office for my full-time job and had a wine society dinner for my catering job on Sunday. I’m exhausted.
There was fun thrown in, however. Friday night was a good time celebrating my good friend’s birthday. Much beer and whiskey was consumed. Cigars were enjoyed.
The Capitals lost though, of course. I’m going to the game tonight, so hopefully they’ll pull out a win. This will be the first time I’ve gone to a game all year, and may be the last. I don’t plan on giving the Capitals organization a dime until they start doing some things to improve the product on the ice. George McPhee and Glen Hanlon need to go.
I had a bit of response on my first video blog, so I’ll probably do that again. I got a few comments on the YouTube page for my entry, but not on this website, so I’ll need to figure out how to get that traffic over to my own page. I’m trying to increase my current $0.84 in Google Adsense earnings. :P
Oh. One more thing. Please go here, buy one song and register for the iPod touch raffle. We’re trying to get a lot of exposure, so tell a friend, too! There are some free downloads up on the main website as well, including a couple of the artists doing holiday songs.
Anyway, work is insanely hectic so I’d better get back at it.
Last night I decided I’d try this whole vlogging thing (Yet another obnoxious web word. Like “blogosphere). Here’s my first video.
I’ll get around soon to getting this to embed easier, so I don’t have to record, post to YouTube and embed here, etc. There are some video plugins for wordpress, so I’m sure I’ll find something. I’m using PodPress over at ryptidemusic.com. I think that will support video so maybe I’ll try that.
In related news, I’ve been playing around with Jott lately, and I’m hoping I can get some neat stuff set up with that. I’ve already got it talking to my Remember The Milk and Twitter accounts, which should be neat when i get around to using it more.
I really want to vote Kucinich in the primaries, as I agree with him the most. Obama runs a close second. The problem is the media has basically pegged Clinton as the nominee already. Unfortunately, the Democratic Party also has a reputation for “picking the wrong horse” — and I think Clinton would be that type of choice. She could win, sure, but I don’t think she is different enough from anyone on the Republican side to really make a difference. Her health care ideas seem a little off to me, she basically supports the war in Iraq, is in the pocket of the big lobbies, etc… I wouldn’t be able to support Clinton in the general election.
This is the problem I have with our two-party system. When the primaries are over, I’m left with a choice of one candidate I don’t want to be my president versus another candidate I want to be my president a little bit less. Where is the candidate that I can vote for without leaving that nasty taste in my mouth, while helping to ensure that the really bad candidate doesn’t make it to the White House? Seems like the third-party candidates only wind up taking votes from the lesser of two evils candidate, which leaves us with the really bad guy.
Just like the election process, the holiday advertising starts earlier and earlier every year. I stopped into Starbucks on my lunch break, and they’re already on the holiday menu! This is good, because I thoroughly enjoy the dirty eggnog chai latte I confuse baristas with this time every year (chai latte w/ eggnog and espresso shots) — but it was Halloween just last Wednesday!
