Friday!

Thank goodness.

It’s been a long, slow and dreary week. I’m excited about the weather getting cooler, though. I actually needed an extra blanket last night!

Tonight I’m off to Baltimore. Tomorrow night is the Superheroes/Supervillains party and I *think* I’ve finally decided who my alter ego is. Delaware on Sunday afternoon/evening, then back here to start the week again.

Leopard launches today, and I will probably pick it up next week sometime. I intend to pay $29 for it, as I’m going to use my $100 iPhone credit for the difference. There’s some stuff coming in Leopard that I’m excited about. I may get a .Mac account early next year to take advantage of some of the benefits .Mac brings with Leopard — most of which hinge around having multiple Macs, which I don’t have. We’ll see.

In other news, my birthday is coming soon and everyone should buy me things. Here’s my Amazon Wishlist and my ThinkGeek Wishlist. I also take cash and credit.

Let’s see… What else? Well… I started this blog so I could talk about various goings-on in my life and my views on the world. I haven’t really been doing a lot of that lately. There’s a whole lot going on in the world and I read and hear about a lot of it… But I’ve been kinda quiet here. I should really change that. I certainly do enough actual talking about things. I used to put it down here, and I should do that again.

In music-related news, I’ve been doing quite a bit of work with New Indie Artists. I’m running their website, and helping out with various marketing things. I’ve also been working with Jeff Kaye of 35 Days In May on how to get his studio work into a live setting. 35 Days In May is a jazz band that uses a bit of sampling and looping as well. I’ve been showing him the ropes with Ableton Live and I’m hoping that can be useful and allow them even more creativity and whatnot. If I’m able, maybe I’ll get a chance to record one of our sessions and post it up over at ryptidemusic.com.

The catering gig is going well. Those parties can get really elaborate and expensive. I wish I had half the disposable income some of these folks have. Last weekend’s event involved 5 themed double bars, several food stations, hula dancers and two suckling pigs. Good times.

I also should not have eaten almost a pound of liver and onions last night. My discipline has completely disappeared.

Ok that’s all.

As for .Mac. There’s some things I really like about the idea behind it. There’s really not much storage, and it’s dependant on your internet connection for speed (which can suck if you’re on the road). I’ve been considering grabbing one of these and creating my own .Mac clone. Really shouldn’t be that hard, and syncing will be really fast at home. I can also set it up so that I can sync from the office or on the road.

If I do this, I’ll let you know how it goes.
