Project Idea

I think I’m going to start working on a Mashup of all the micro-blogging, social dealies. I want to be able to send one text message which updates my Twitter status (with location via twittervision), checks in at dodgeball, updates my Facebook status and whatever else I need it to do. Hrm.

/me runs off to poke around in APIs.

well imagine that

Halliburton’s profits are up 19.9%. And folks wonder why BushCo doesn’t want out of Iraq. If you listen closely you can hear Cheney cackling maniacally.

In better news, the weekend was good, and my copy of Harry Potter came in today (would have been delivered Saturday, but I had it shipped to the office). Debating on whether to put down the book I’m currently reading and pick that up or what. Didn’t make it to Artscape, but had a great time just relaxing anyhow.

Work has been slow lately, so I’m trying to ramp up and jump on more things to get busy again.

Ok, back to it then.

quick question

WTF happened to saying you were going to do something, and then actually doing the thing you said you were going to do?

Democrats were poised to work all last night, to draw attention to Republican obstructionism on even voting on a measure to change course in Iraq. Harry Reid was all over the news and the web spouting about how they’ll work through the night. He had set quorum calls at 3:00 AM and 7:00 AM, and had cots set up in the chamber.

Sure enough, he waffles and just does one call at 5:00 AM, letting everyone get some sleep. There were some folks that actually did work through the night, but Reid’s rhetoric certainly didn’t hold water when it came right down to it. 40 Senators didn’t even check in at 5:00 AM.

It’s a pretty minor thing when you think about it, but why come out and make a scene only to go back on your word?

I was ready for some real in-the-trenches stuff. I was ready to have someone in that god forsaken building show some freaking backbone. I was ready for Reid to have the sergeant-at-arms dragging senators back to the chamber all night… But again… Smoke and mirrors. Much ado about nothing.

Nobody in either party has a grasp on the reality and gravity of the situation overseas or here at home. Nobody in either party is in touch with the American people.

I’m so fed up with it.
