A while back I mentioned that I’ve been put in a leadership role for our process improvement efforts at my company.

For the past two weeks we’ve been going through the readiness review and appraisal process (actually less time, but spread out over that two weeks). Today we were presented with our final findings.. We Made It! We’ve now obtained a Maturity Level Rating of 2 for CMMI. We had many strengths in the findings, which is not a common occurence, particularly at the organization-wide level. A company does not usually have many strengths at this stage in the process improvement effort. A strength means that you went above and beyond with the model calls for.

This is a big feather in the cap for my company, and a massive personal accomplishment on my part. There was much patting of backs and congratulatory speechifying.

Here’s hoping for a juicy raise and bonus. I’ve also been promised some additional time off around the holidays, which is excellent. :)

Now, back to work. It really never stops. :P
